Yes! AGL does support employee fundraising activities. These activities are not the responsibility of AGL’s Energy for Life program but any donations (only credit card payments are accepted) from employees, family and friends will be matched (up to $1,000 per fundraising page per financial year) when created on the Power to Give platform.

The fundraising pages allow you to get support from your colleagues, family, and friends for specific charity events. The charity must be registered on the Power to Give platform to set-up a fundraising page to support the charity/event and ask your colleagues, family, and friends to sponsor you.

Please note if you are supporting a charity that requires you to register your support on their homepage, you will have to do this as well to ensure you are registered for their particular fundraiser.

To set up a fundraiser, follow these simple steps: 

• Log onto the Power to Give platform
• Select your name in the top right-hand corner
• Select ‘fundraising’ in the left-hand navigation
• Follow the prompts to add a fundraising page

In some instances the charity for which you are fundraising, may request that you register or create a fundraising page on their website. It’s important to follow their instructions, particularly if you are registering for an event. However please be aware that if you would like AGL to match your fundraising efforts (up to $1,000 per fundraising page)

• you must also create a fundraising page on the Power to Give platform.
• only donations made to a fundraising page created on the Power to Give will be matched.
• no fundraising external to the Power to Give will be considered for matching.

The charities supported on the Power to Give can produce reports showing the name of your fundraising page. So the charity can identify your fundraising page, please ensure the Power to Give Fundraising page title includes your name and/or your team’s name.

Yes. Simply set up your fundraising page and then SHARE the link with your friends and family. Family and friends will be directed to the main Goodcompany website where they will be able to contribute via credit card payment.

Note. Credit card is the only payment method for Fundraising pages. Note when paying, you will be charged a standard credit card fee of 1% plus 10 cents for Visa and Mastercard or 2% plus 10 cents for AMEX.

In addition to the above fee, The Karma Currency Foundation asks for a small donation of a few extra dollars which helps them, a non-profit public fund, manage the website. The donation helps them to continue to connect thousands of charities with thousands of volunteers and donors. This donation is optional.

You do not pay any administration costs for using the Power to Give platform. AGL has a formal partnership with Goodcompany which sees us pay an administrative fee on behalf of our employees who donate.

If fundraising donations are made through the Power to Give platform, all funds will be matched by AGL (up to $1,000 per employee per fundraising page). AGL will not match donations to fundraising pages outside of the Power to Give platform.

When an individual receives a donation on their fundraising page, an automatic AGL matching donation is added to the fundraising tally as “AGL Matched”. Once matching donations reach $1,000 AGL will no longer match funds donated to the individual’s page.
